TOWN SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD

AND

STORMWATER UTILITY COMMISSION

The Town of Oro Valley has extended applications for volunteers to fill three positions on the Town’s Board of Adjustment. The two-year terms expire July 2010. Applicants must be residents of the Town of Oro Valley.

The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board that has the power to review and decide on administrative decisions or zoning requirements that create unnecessary hardships in the development of property because of exceptional or extraordinary conditions. Unlike other boards or commissions, the Board of Adjustment makes the final decision on items that come before it. The Board of Adjustment meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 3 p.m.

The Town of Oro Valley is currently accepting applications for a volunteer to serve on the Town’s Storm Water Utility Commission. There is currently one position available. The Storm Water Utility Commission would prefer citizens with experience in civic affairs or engineering, however, all interested citizens are encouraged to apply for the position.

The Oro Valley Storm Water Utility Commission is the official advisory body that makes recommendations to the Town Council regarding storm water management, planning, capital improvements and rate structuring. The Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month.

The Town of Oro Valley is extending the deadline for residents who wish to serve on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB). Applicants must be residents of Oro Valley and able to serve a two-year term. There are currently two openings available.
 

The PRAB consists of seven members, and acts in an advisory capacity to the Town Council on matters pertaining to parks and recreation, parks design, open space, and trail use. The board meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
